That's me, with my youngest son Nathan. My name is
James, although many students call me, "Chaplain
dude". I've been
married for over 14 years and we have four
great kids, Daniel who is 12, Caleb who is 10, Rebekah who is 7 and last but
not least, Nathan who is 4. We are originally from Melbourne and came
across to South Australia after I joined the Royal Australian Air Force in
1990, and we've been here ever since.
I spent four and a half years in the RAAF as a Clerk Supply, which means that I
was responsible for getting equipment to the Technicians so they could fix the
aircrafts. I also spent time in the Army Reserves as both an Engineer in
1983-85 and in the Q Store in 1996-97. The military is a great career,
and it teaches you many great life skills, I recommend it.
I left the RAAF at the end of 1994 to go to Bible College, where I completed a
Bachelors Degree in Ministry. I
graduated in 2000. Since leaving the RAAF I have been involved in youth
work at various locations, the longest being at a Uniting Church in
Adelaide's northern suburbs for nearly four years. I'm not into sports
very much, but I love playing pool and snooker, cards, computer games such as
Crash bandicoot 1 & 2, I haven't got number 3 yet. I also, as
many students have found out, love telling jokes, riddles and lateral
thinking quizzes.
I also enjoy playing on my computer, games as well as database
programming. I was a database programmer for a year while in the RAAF,
but now I mostly play around with designing web pages, newsletters and talking
to students from Ross Smith via the net. But my family always come first,
not the computer. I believe that family is very important, so God is at
the top followed very closely by family. I try to spend time with my
kids, playing cards or play station etc. I love my family very much
and would be lost without them. I also enjoy cooking.
We have a dog (Tasha) and two cats (Pepper, Tiger). We enjoy watching
good movies, and I'm into Star Trek, I have all of Next Generation &
Voyager tapes, as well as a big selection of movies. I enjoy a good
action or thriller movie and almost anything Sci-fi. My favourite movie
would have to be the Matrix. Jackie Chan is fast moving up on my list of
favourite actors.
Anyway, that's enough from me, I hope this gives you a bit of an overview of
who I am, and what I am about. If you would like to find out more
about me, and how I was rescued from a life of drugs on the streets of Kings
Cross in Sydney, check out my personal web page.
